Let’s Not Write Off The NX Just Yet

Reaction to the details plastered over the web from this week’s NX leak have been mixed to say the least. Most people have been expecting the NX to be a more “traditional” style console than Nintendo’s last two efforts, a machine on par with the Xbone and PS4 that can go head-to-head with both systems, in a way the Wii U never could.

However, information discovered via this leak suggests that the console couldn’t be any more different from these expectations if it tried. The leak suggests that the NX will be a portable device that can connect to a TV, it will also have detachable controls, is reportedly powered by a Tegra chipset (making it graphically inferior to current generation consoles) and will use good old-fashioned cartridges. It definitely doesn’t match up to the predictions of many, myself included. But should this leak, assuming it is true, be a cause for concern?
